Following the successful refurbishment of the hotel’s 76 bedrooms in 2018, Winchester Mansions is excited to announce that all of the room’s bathrooms will now undergo renovations, commencing on 01 April 2020. The remodelling will include the installation of new plumbing and subsequent layout changes to optimise the hotel’s rooms.
Winchester Mansions, well known for its rich history and iconic Cape Dutch architecture, is a leading seafront hotel situated along the Sea Point Promenade.
Before the renovation begins, it will be business as usual for the whole month of March. Preparations for the remodelling will only commence after breakfast on 01 April 2020.
This renovation will take place over seven months during which the hotel and its restaurant, Harveys, will be closed for business.
During this time, all staff will remain employed by the hotel and will undergo various training initiatives and take part in charity work on behalf of the hotel.
“Select bedrooms will be remodelled to optimise layouts and maximise the room types that are in constant demand. We will also use this opportunity to renovate the passages, ceilings and lighting. If possible, the reception and courtyard will also be improved to enhance the look and feel of the hotel,” says Murray Nell, Managing Director at Winchester Mansions.
The revamped rooms will be completed by the end of October 2020, with a grand reopening of the hotel set to take place with Winchester Mansion’s famous Jazz Brunch on Sunday 01 November.
“We are looking forward to getting this much-anticipated renovation underway and are thrilled with the plans for our hotel’s future,” says Nell.
“Winchester Mansions is constantly evolving; we are entering into a new chapter, building on our past successes and strengthening our legacy. We are confident of the hotel’s favourable future, having invested in this opportunity for further growth,” he concludes.
