Verddichio Restaurant and Wine Cellar, located in Montecasino, celebrates its 20th year of operation sine it first opened its doors on the 30th of November 2000.  Home to over 400 different wines, including 35 international wines, Verdicchio has been praised for its extensive collection, winning the Diamond award in the Diners Club International wine list award criteria from 2009 to 2019. In addition, the restaurant has also obtained the Tenant of the Decade award with Montecasino as one of the long-standing establishments in the Complex.

“The restaurant came about in 2000 when myself and three friends modelled the concept off a restaurant based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shortly afterwards, I bought out my partners and I ran this piece of heaven in the Italian village of the Casino. I’ve dedicated the last 20 years of my life to seeing this restaurant grow and I’m filled with nothing but pride and joy,” says Tubby Georghiou, owner of Verdicchio.

Throughout the years, the restaurant has served over 1 million customers, including the 2010 Italian soccer team, the Springboks, the late Zinzdiswa Mandela and Chef Ainsley Harriot, to name a few.

The grilled crayfish, Toscana pasta and Beef Carpaccio have always been the most loved dishes with the restaurant’s guests. Executive Chef, Victor Ngwenya recommends the Pasta Granada, which is one of the restaurant’s signature dishes.

“We use only the freshest ingredients to serve our guests with amazing, seasonal dishes regularly. Our sole aim is to continue winning the hearts of our regulars time and time again,” concludes Tubby.
