The Radisson Blu, Sandton has appointed Chef Tristan Latouf to its Vivace restaurant team as executive chef. Tristan was previously the former head chef of the Dinner Time Stories’ pop-up dinner while based at Quarterman Faircity Hotel, and he’s now looking forward to adding his own seasonal stamp on the Vivace restaurant as well as a menu that showcases South Africa’s cuisine.
“Working for an brand such as the Radisson is a career highlight for me. I’m excited to introduce a fresh, summery feel to the Vivace menu and look forward to a brilliant Summer in the City of Gold,” he says.
Chef Tristan Latouf first started off as a dishwasher at an Italian restaurant, across from the Pretoria home he grew up in, and then followed his passion for food by borrowing money from his uncle to open a little restaurant. He then headed overseas through America and London, gaining experience and becoming Sous Chef for Italian chef Antonio Carluccio at his flagship restaurant, before returning home to SA.
“We are overjoyed and incredibly proud to have Chef Tristan Latouf join our team. Locally, he is famous for his fresh and seasonal approach, embracing strong Mediterranean flavours whilst preserving an authentic African feel and we are extremely excited for the introduction and influence of these flavours to our Vivace restaurant,” said Shaun Wheeler, General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel Sandton
