The Capital Hotels and Apartments has transformed property The Moloko into The IVY Villa Hotel & Spa, investing R22 million into the upgrade. The property in Strathavon, Sandton has had its hotel rooms upgraded as well as nine villas added to the accommodation mix.
“THE IVY is a nature-inspired sanctuary that offers the peace and tranquillity of a premier secluded bush-lodge escape, but it’s within quick and easy reach of Africa’s most cosmopolitan business, shopping and restaurant destinations,” explains Marc Wachsberger, managing director of The Capital Hotels and Apartments.
“While our focus remains on expanding our footprint of ‘good for business’ hotels that focus on business travellers’ need for cost-efficient apartment-hotel style accommodation, the opportunity was ripe to transform this prime property into a destination that disrupts the boutique hotel model,” Wachsberger adds.
Features of The IVY Villa Hotel & Spa include completely new reception and guest lounge areas, an on-site Camelot Spa, high-tech conferencing venues, as well as Reuben’s restaurant, conceptualised and headed up by Chef Reuben Riffel. The property is also pet-friendly. “Our superior suites and specialised lifestyle services offer all the attentive comforts guests need while still creating a sense of untouched seclusion,” Wachsberger adds. “Guests will appreciate the 24/7 services of the hotel’s butlers and thoughtful concierge services, and will revel in the opportunity to experience Reuben Riffel’s only restaurant and bar outside the Western Cape, with his breakfast, lunch and dinner menus embracing seasonal produce.”
