He is a selfless achiever in an extremely competitive environment and it is this character trait along with his ever positive mindset which has escalated Julius Ramotse to his new position as Sun City’s General Manager of Hospitality.

Ramotse says that he is exactly where he hoped to be at this point in time, and he is extremely excited about what lies ahead for him. Julius has worked for Sun International for, what he describes as 13 wonderful years and has a great vision for the next five years. He wants to help elevate Sun City to become one of the best places at which to work, while maintaining its reputation as one of the most exciting holiday destinations to visit.

He plans to bring to life this vision by, in his words, “believing in our people and pushing them to be the best in whatever they do; recognising our people; celebrating our good performers; insisting on quality and excellence; encouraging managers to lead by example, and by driving accountability without ever compromising our standards.”

“People are at the very core of delivering excellent service and an exceptional customer experience,” he says.

With 20 years in the hospitality industry, there is no better candidate to manage the resort’s hospitality. He started from the bottom as trolley bar attendant, worked as a griller, cook, catering manager, food and beverage manager, operations manager, hotel manager and is now the general manager of hospitality. His years of experience are complimented by his BJuris Degree, the completion of a Management Advancement program, a Marketing Management Certificate and Coaching for Performance qualifications.

Whilst very driven at work, Julius also has a great love for his past time activities which include reading, cooking, spending time with his family and playing golf.  He makes special mention of the fact that he loves watching football and that without the support of his wife and children, he would not be where he is today.  My wife is the pillar of strength and all my successes including my qualification are as a result of her support and encouragement.  “She has a doctorate in support and understanding me”.

Julius loves dealing with both colleagues and guests.  “The warmth and friendliness of people is what drew me to the hospitality industry in the first place,” he explains, “It is the diversity of the people I get to interact with every day that make this industry so exciting.”
