The Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa is taking its renowned luxury further with a new bespoke and sustainable amenities range that will be launched on 1 December. The amenities range is proudly South African, developed by local experts for the Saxon guests, and embodies Saxon’s offering of belonging, feeling at home in surroundings that form a natural extension of one’s own graceful lifestyle. The range has its own unique signature fragrance in all the products, is made of the finest local ingredients, and has a beautifully created logo and design for its packaging.
Soul of the Saxon
The core values of the Saxon – making each guest feel at home, evoking a sense of belonging, the heart of our hospitality offering, and the unique feeling our guests take home with them -formed the basis of the journey the hotel took in developing the bespoke SOUL range. Over the past 21 years at the Saxon, a very distinctive Saxon soul, and personality developed, encompassing the feeling of stillness and being at home, entrenched in the proudly South African luxury we offer our guests.
The soul of the Saxon is evoked in the senses of our guests, by the fragrances, the sights, and sounds they experience at the hotel as well as the tastes of the food presented in our restaurant. At its core, we aimed to recreate this soul with this new range of amenities.
Only the finest, natural ingredients – locally and sustainably sourced – have been used in the development of the SOUL range of amenities. The locally produced products contain no parabens or sulphates, are not tested on animals, and are packaged in recycled and recyclable bottles, ensuring that guests can enjoy SOUL safe in the knowledge that there is a minimal environmental impact created by these luxurious products.
We embarked on the journey of developing our own bespoke amenities brand to enhance our sustainability and our responsibility towards green initiatives and to support local communities and businesses, enabling us to offer our guests a bespoke local product, allowing them to take a bit of the Saxon home with them.
The SOUL range, in orange, golden, and beige hues, represents the tones used in the décor throughout the property, evoking the existing look and feel of the hotel.
The initial launch of the collection will include body wash, body lotion, hand wash, hand lotion, shampoo, conditioner, room spray, and soap bars to name a few.
SOUL Signature Fragrance
The SOUL fragrance was designed by a leading local fragrance expert, who entrenched themselves into the Saxon experience, taking all the elements that embody the Saxon in its design, use of textures and art to create a scent that is representative of the Saxon and the inimitable Saxon Journey. The scent is designed to be memorable and completely unique to the Saxon, creating a bespoke sensory experience for our guests.
The signature fragrance of SOUL comprises earthy, warm tones and was inspired by the indigenous Wild Fig trees across the property. The scent also includes notes of Sandalwood, Cedarwood, and Amber – representing the design and feel of the suites at the Saxon – as well as Jasmine, synonymous with the relaxation elements of the Saxon Spa, adding an exotic, rich, and sweet note. These fragrances notes combined create a uniquely pleasing sensory experience in the use of the SOUL products.
The SOUL logo design encompasses the symbolism of perfect symmetry much like the Saxon Crest, standing by the Saxon vision of striving for perfection and the perfect balance that encapsulates the Saxon Journey. The logo was inspired by a geometric conceptualisation of a four-leaf clover: with its symbolic values of promise, joyfulness, prosperity, and protection.
