One of only 100 restaurants in the world to make the list, and the only establishment from the African continent, Restaurant Mosaic at The Orient has once again been awarded the prestigious Wine Spectator Grand Award for the third year in a row. The award recognises the restaurant’s exceptional wine lists and cellar.
Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards are judged on three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award. Wine Spectator has recognized the achievements of nearly 3,800 restaurants, hailing from all 50 states and 80 countries and territories, that have demonstrated the passion and devoted the resources to create outstanding wine programs in 2020.
The Wine Spectator Grand Award is Wine Spectator’s most prestigious honor, given to the world’s elite wine programs, which generally have 1 000 selections or more, present diners with a depth of vintages from some of the most well-known producers and include multiple bottle formats. The Award also recognises an exquisite dining experience.
“We are extremely proud of this global recognition and raise our glasses, to say a great big thank you to our Cellar Master for his passion, dedication and continued hard work to ensure that we have all these beautiful wine gems available for our guests to enjoy. Our team looks forward to welcoming back our guests when we re-open on 2 Spetember 2020, when we launch our much awaited Spring Menu – Nasturtium “ says Patron Chef Chantel Dartnall.
