Head Pastry Chef Marco Gaspar has updated the Palazzo Hotel’s High Tea offering for winter, with a new range of seasonal sweet and savoury treats.

The sweet menu includes Vanilla panna cotta with stone fruit compote; Lemon soft cake with lemon curd and Italian meringue; Apple strawberry crumble tart; Raspberry lime custard mini éclair; Dark chocolate mousse dome with crunchy nuggets; Baked vanilla cheesecake with assorted berries; Macarons; and Scones served with chantilly cream, strawberry jam and cheese. The savoury selection includes assorted sandwiches; Grilled halloumi and homemade sweet chilli on Italian bread; Smoked salmon and ricotta cheese quiche; Spinach and feta quiche; and Moroccan vegetable pie.

Chef Gaspar says, “We pull out the stops to make sure that every high tea experience is world-class, both from a menu perspective and for the tranquil and elegant atmosphere that the Palazzo offers. We look forward to welcoming and pampering our guests through the chilly winter days when a feast of treats make every high tea occasion a celebration.”

The Winter High Teas at the Palazzo Hotel at Montecasino are available from 1 June to 31 August, daily from 2pm to 5pm, at R260 per person. Booking is essential on 011 510 3000.
