Adding a second Cape Town property to its portfolio, African hotel group ONOMO Hotels recently announced the launch of Signature Lux Waterfront by ONOMO.
The 89-roomed property is housed in a beautifully preserved heritage building in the V&A Waterfront. “Some of the rooms have these beautiful beams running through them and we also have an incredible collection of antique furniture thanks to the developer’s vision for the hotel,” says general manager Walda Meyer.
The property isn’t letting its 1901 heritage stand in the way of modern-day conveniences – self service kiosks at reception allow guests to check themselves in and out, with the hotel’s app providing a mobile key function and easy reservation, laundry, room service, instant messaging with the front desk and WiFi dialling services.
The hotel’s restaurant, Vivaldi, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The space also hosts live performances every night, with musical theatre students from the close-by Waterfront Theatre School providing the entertainment. Samantha Annandale, Onomo Group’s Regional Operational Director, says that “We wanted to offer our guests something unusual, and with Onomo group’s love of the arts and the Waterfront Theatre School as our neighbour, it was a resounding sign to pair the two together. The result is something special, and we plan to put Vivaldi on the Cape Town nightlife map.”
The ONOMO Group aims to be the leading pan African mid-market hospitality professional platform, and will soon be opening properties in Casablanca, Maputo, Douala, Kampala, Tangier and Dar es Salaam.
