ONOMO Hotel Cape Town Inn on the Square will be joining the City of Cape Town for the First Thursdays, as part of Cape Town Central City Improvement District (CCID) initiative to revitalize the Greenmarket Square economy. The events will happen every first Thursday of the month throughout the year with live music, great food and drinks.
This month’s First Thursday will feature live performances by Jonathan Rubain with Don Vino and Candice Thornton, and The Kiffness featuring Matthew Gold. There will also be a mass salsa class on the Square for all levels of Latin dance proficiency.
“ONOMO Hotel Cape Town Inn on the Square, along with other businesses in the Greenmarket Square are excited to be part of First Thursdays. The City of Cape Town is the heart of live music entertainment and street culture in the province and we hope that this drive to revitalize the Greenmarket Square will remind Capetonians and travellers in the area of this gem, and its economy,” said General Manager Mynhardt de Jongh.
March’s First Thursday starts at 17:00 on Greenmarket Square and ends at 22:00. The restaurant and bar at the ONOMO Hotel Cape Town Inn on the Square will be open into the night, beyond the 22:00 closure, providing the perfect space to enjoy the festivities while indulging in great food and drinks in a contemporary African space. For those not keen to drive or use lift apps, they can sleep over at ONOMO Hotel Cape Town Inn on the Square and receive complimentary breakfast.
‘The revival of the Greenmarket Square is a bigger initiative that we hope will get the community to corral behind the businesses that keep this landmark alive. We are setting a new norm and building a positive future for our beloved Cape Town’s central trading district. We are open for business to locals and to all travellers headed for the region, whether it is for a quick lunch, an indulgent dinner or overnight stays,’ concluded de Jongh.
