Peter Tshidi | General Manager – Wild Coast Sun
Peter Tshidi (pictured above) returns to the Sun International stable, taking up the position of General Manager of the Wild Coast Sun after working at The Palace at Sun City 22 years ago. Hailing from Ga-Rankuwa, he has some really exciting plans and developments up his sleeve for the Wild Coast Sun. Although he does not elaborate in great detail, Peter says, “My biggest achievement is yet to come. I am always looking to achieve more tomorrow than I did today.” Peter takes over from Myan Moodley who has moved over to manage Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast.
Douglas Allen | General Manager – Cape Town Marriott Hotel Crystal Towers
Douglas Allen brings his over 30 years of experience to his new position as General Manager of the Cape Town Marriott Hotel Crystal Towers. He has opened two major luxury lifestyle hotels, one of which was the 15 on Orange, Autograph Collection ahead of the FIFA World Cup in 2010. He was part of the professional team that was involved in all aspects of the conceptual design, architecture, and interior furnishing. Following the purchase of Protea Hotels by Marriott International, 15 on Orange hotel was the major pilot for numerous system integration projects.
Kevin Burley | Group Operations Director – ANEW Hotel Group
London-born and bred Kevin Burley, who has worked in the South African hospitality and corporate space for the last 15 years, joins the ANEW Hotel Group as Group Operations Director. His most recent positions have been in the Signature, Orion and aha hotel groups. The ANEW Hotel Group opened two years ago and is based in KwaZulu-Natal group. “The enhancement of our management team is a sure sign of the confidence we have in that we are creating a tourism product that combines a modern experience delivery, underpinned by old-fashioned values and a personal touch,” says ANEW Hotel Group CEO Clinton Armour.
Colleen Mulholland | Executive Chef – Selborne Golf Estate, Hotel and Spa
Chef Colleen Mulholland has been appointed as the Executive Chef of First Group’s Selborne Golf Estate, Hotel and Spa, and will be using the property’s home-grown produce on the menu. “I love cooking with freshly picked vegetables and herbs, artisan breads and artisan vinegar because it tastes distinctively better, and you can ensure the freshness of your meal. My main objective is to move completely away from all ready-made and instant products, so that everything we prepare at Selborne is cooked from scratch – such as desserts and even the stock for sauces and gravies,” says Chef Mulholland. The Hillcrest-born chef has over 20 years of culinary experience under her belt, and has worked at hotel brands such as Protea, Orion, Karos, Sani Mountain Lodge and the Wild Coast Hotel Group.
Paul Duverge | Group General Manager – Cape Summer Villas Boutique Collection
Paul Duverge has been promoted to Group General Manager of the Cape Summer Villas Boutique Collection, which includes Sky Villa Boutique Hotel, The Bungalow Plettenberg Bay, Spanish Farm Guest Lodge, 9 on Camp Villas, The Den and Eikehoff Apartments, Pringle Bay Villa and the Oubaai Villa. In his new position, he will manage and oversee the entire hospitality portfolio, with each property’s divisional manager reporting directly to him.
