Recently appointed, Sipho Ngcobo has taken on the position of Customer Relationship Manager for Pietermaritzburg’s Golden Horse Casino. He began his career as a floor waiter in 2002 at the casino, before moving to the marketing department where he took on a role as Marketing Host, promoted to a senior role in 2005.

He later moved into a role as Data Analyst at the property, and then, after hands-on mentoring from his Marketing Manager, was promoted to his current position as Customer Relationship Manager. “Initially, I joined Golden Horse Casino due to the lack of employment opportunities available at the time, but grew to love what I did as time progressed. I enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life and getting the opportunity to make a difference in their lives; even if it is just for a brief moment. What I love most about my job is having a bird’s eye view of the business, discovering opportunities, and, of course, providing services to Hotel and Casino guests,” says Ngcobo.

With a full team to manage and guide, Ngcobo consistently ensures that they understand their importance in realising the property’s objectives. Sharing his advice to those who want to achieve success in the industry, he says “Be ready to push yourself to the edge and sacrifice. Education is always key, so keep gaining more knowledge on what you’re working towards.”
