Little Switzerland Resort, part of the Dream Hotels & Resorts portfolio, will now be accommodating pets in two of its self-catering chalets.

Says Gerhard Van Zyl , General Manager of Little Switzerland Resort: “We are excited to make the Drakensberg accessible for those longing to bring their fur-babies with them on their local holidays. Like us humans, our pets long for adventure too, and its the perfect place to let them stretch their legs and discover new and exciting sights, sounds and smells out here in the fresh mountain air.”

Little Switzerland ResortCurrently, small to medium dogs can be accommodated with birds and other types of small pets to be managed on an individual basis. “As a courtesy to other visitors, there are a few extra rules for our dedicated pet-loving guests,” adds Van Zyl. Owners must bring their dog bedding with them, as well as treats and favourite toys, and dogs must always be kept on a leash when walking on the property. Dogs are allowed on the property’s hiking trails, but aren’t allowed in the pool area, restaurant or main patio.

“As is the rule with all our guests, we will not allow aggressive behaviour on the premises, nor will we allow excessive barkers, although, we do understand that staying at Little Switzerland can be incredibly enthralling and our guests do need to express themselves from time to time,” Van Zyl adds.

The two pet-friendly units, which each come with an outdoor braai and seating area, join the current accommodation mix of 22 self-catering chalets and en-suite hotel rooms.
