It’s official! La Petite Colombe has opened its doors in Franschhoek. The restaurant launched on the 1st of August at Le Quartier Francais, part of the Leeu Collection, and takes over the space from the iconic The Tasting Room.

Proprietor chefs and business partners, Scot Kirton (Eat Out Chef of the Year 2015) and Head Chef, James Gaag, will be directing the La Petite Colombe team, which will be headed up in the kitchen by young La Colombe chef, John Norris-Rogers, who will be working side-by-side with chefs Scot and James.

The interior is described as classic, with a modern-country accent, and has been styled by architect Rohan Young and the Leeu Collection’s interior designer, Beverley Boswell. The restaurant will serve up 8 and 12-course tasting menus. The menu changes regularly, but an example of some of the dishes include Citrus glazed line fish, smoked parsnip, pancetta, buckwheat, asparagus; Seared wagyu, braised brisket, sweetbread, soubise, burnt thyme, sherry; and Asiago, pear, pecan, Japanese cheese cake, fynbos honey, beurre noisette.
