Westfalia is the fruit division of the Hans Merensky Foundation

The objective of the Hans Merensky Foundation is to promote and assist in the development of the resources of South Africa and neighboring territories – particularly such natural resources as soil, water, minerals, flora and fauna – and to promote the health and welfare of the inhabitants;  more specifically by research, experimentation and demonstration and through the correlation and application of scientific knowledge.

Westfalia Fruit Products

Westfalia is the largest avocado grower in South Africa and the Westfalia brand name is recognized as a leader in the avocado industry worldwide. Westfalia Estate is situated on the foothills of the Drakensberg escarpment near Tzaneen in the Limpopo Province. This farm was home to Dr Hans Merensky and is the centre of Westfalia’s agricultural operations.

Westfalia Product Range

Westfalia Fruit Products supply the retail and catering industry with Avocado Oil and Guacamole.

Westfalia Guacamole is 100% natural and is available as a frozen product in a natural or spicy variant. Packaged in 10 x 1kg or 5 x 1kg cartons, our guacamole has a 3 year shelf life and is available throughout the year. Westfalia Guacamole is also available in retail cartons (500g and 1kg) through Makro outlets in Gauteng.  Plans are currently underway to launch Westfalia Guacamole as a chilled product into Pick n Pay and Checkers stores.

Westfalia Avocado Oil is available through all major retail chains nationally. The Westfalia Avocado Oil range consists of 6 variants – Chilli, Mediterranean, Lemon, Natural, Basil and Garlic infusions. The range is available in 250ml and 500ml glass bottles. 1L and 5L  tins are also available for the catering industry.
