TWO OCEANS SHOWERED IN SILVER
Popular lifestyle wine brand, Two Oceans has been showered in silver on international platforms,
shortly after receiving A-plus scores from the famous Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. Brand manager Brad Gold said it was “fantastically affirming” to see the range perform so well alongside its far higher-priced competitors.
Two Oceans won a total of five silver medals at the UK-based Decanter World Wine Awards and from the Beverage Tasting Institute in Chicago, where in both instances, wines were evaluated blind.
“On the Decanter competition, our 2008 Pinot Noir and 2008 Shiraz both took silver. In Chicago, it was also the 2008 Shiraz, as well as the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot and 2008 Chardonnay that earned silver medals. The Shiraz has also elicited very positive recommendations from US wine critics in Philadelphia and Wisconsin, as has the 2008 Sauvignon blanc,” he said.
Gold said the easy-drinking range was defying the downturn, thanks to its very accessible styling and pricing. “Of course, praise from respected critics certainly doesn’t hurt!”
