Theft From Greek Players

Southern Sun Hotels is investigating "an allegation" that cash was stolen from the hotel rooms of Greece's national soccer squad in Durban, a company spokeswoman said on Thursday.

"It is an allegation and we investigate all allegations," Priya Naidoo said, declining to comment further.

Reuters earlier quoted Greece's team manager Michael Tsapidis as saying three members of the country's World Cup squad have had cash stolen from their rooms at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Durban's northern suburbs.
Acting hotel manager Patsy Esposito declined to discuss the report.
Durban police spokeswoman Brigadier Phindile Radebe said she had heard of the incident, but nobody had laid a charge with the police.

Greece meets South Korea in Port Elizabeth on Saturday in their first match of the June 11-July 11 tournament.
