HUNTER’S BELOW ZERO CAMPAIGN TO BUILD WINTER THIRST

Hunter’s, South Africa’s most refreshing name in cider, is gearing up for the cooler weather with a novel Hunter’s Below Zero competition.  Featuring snow, icicles, polar bears and other winter cues, the promotion, which runs over April and May, will see six winners each host a Hunter’s Refresher Session this winter for 50 friends.

Participating consumers will be required to sms their details to be eligible for the externally audited lucky draw with instructions provided on the inside of bottle closures.  For the winners, the ultimate-in-chill parties will be held in fabulous five-star mansions, with transport to and from the venues provided for all their guests from an appointed destination in each instance.  Generous servings of food, beverages and entertainment will be laid on and every winner will be entitled to choose their own DJ.

Brand spokesperson Sanele Gumede says the promotion is being publicised on shrink-wrapped Hunter’s packs throughout the range.  “With pull-up banners, posters and snow and polar bear displays in on-consumption and retail outlets we plan to give new meaning to the concept of promoting global cooling ‘one Hunter’s at a time’.

“We are taking the message of our very successful advertising campaign to the next level by creating the opportunity for South Africans to keep their cool in the most warm-hearted, hospitable way in the company of good friends.”

Gumede said Hunter’s recent summer competition to win a three-day Indian Ocean Refresher Session aboard the MSC Rhapsody cruise liner, had elicited 230 000 entries.  A similar competition had also been run in Botswana, with consumers given the opportunity to spend three days on a luxury liner cruising among the islands off the Mozambican coast.  “The promotion also enjoyed enormous consumer support and sales volume growth in Botswana has been robust.”

Locally the brand continues to show good growth, despite the recession and on the African continent, more consumers are embracing Hunter’s.
